Anxious Patients

From Oral to Conscious sedation, Reflections Dental Health Centre offers a full suite of options to calm and relax you.

Wouldn't it be great to never dread the dentist again? If it's been a while since your last appointment and you're thinking it's 'time', then let our Reflections Dental Health Centre team put you at ease.

Whether you need a cavity filled, dentures, treatment for your sore gums or even fixing a chipped tooth, we'll help you relax right through it with our sedation options. In fact, some of our most apprehensive patients now look forward to visiting us!

What type of sedation is right for you?

At Reflections Dental Health Centre we offer a wide range of options but the first step is always – a consultation. By taking the time to get to know where your fear is coming from, we'll be better able to recommend an option that's right for you.

Oral Sedation

Patients are conscious and responsive throughout the procedure but you will not be AS nervous or fidgety. The purpose of oral sedation is not to put you to sleep but to put you at ease. OR to decrease any discomfort or anxiety. Please note this may vary from person to person. If a greater level of sedation is required, we offer IV Sedation as well.

Once the procedure is complete – you'll feel just as relaxed as if you were lying on your couch at home. Best of all, it will seem like only a few minutes have passed.

Uncertainty

We're all a little guilty of it – being a little afraid to try new things. That's why at Reflections Dental Health Centre, our team will ensure that you are fully aware of a procedure before we perform it.

A previous bad dental experience

Sometimes a bad experience can stay with us a lot longer than we'd like to admit. Please let our team know if you've ever had a bad experience – a big part of our job is to make you feel safe and comfortable in our care.

Ready. Set. Wait. Go.

Fear of the needle - that's one of the biggest causes of anxiety. So, to put that fear to rest, we'll give you a topical treatment to ensure that your gums are well frozen before we administer the needle.

Just let us know when you are ready and we will walk you through the procedure slowly. If at any time during your procedure you would like us to stop, just give us a signal and we won't begin again until you are ready.

Relax! We're Here to Help.
